You will find handy links to presentations by Jacqui Sharp, from a recent conference. You'll also find a number of links for those interested in the Web 2.0 environment.

I'm interested in Gardner's Multiple Intelligences and its application in learning situations. I'm encouraging my students to think about the kind of intelligences they display. At our school we encourage our students to think about their thinking.

Think about what kind of skills you possess. Are you mathematical? Are you always on the move? Do you love to write and create using words? Do you love people? Or do you like to go somewhere quiet and reflect?

What are multiple intelligences?

Gardner's Multiple Intelligences is based on the theory that Intelligence is based on more than a score in an IQ test. Howard Gardner said that there were eight kinds of intelligences.

words (linguistic intelligence)
	numbers or logic (logical-mathematical intelligence)
	pictures (spatial intelligence)
	music (musical intelligence)
	self-reflection (intrapersonal intelligence)
	a physical experience (bodily-kinesthetic intelligence)
	a social experience (interpersonal intelligence), and/or

Note: some web 2.o tools require downloads. Some like Hammerhead will work on Windows but not on Mac OS. Some like digital lego and Google Sketch-up will work on both. Some will not work on Safari but they will work on Firefox.

Log into chatzy and tell your friends what you are trying. Be creative, and try to increase your knowledge and your skills. Discuss what kind of intelligence you possess. Talk about the kinds of activities that get you interested and involved.

New Users of Macs

This seminar is wide open to the input of the attendees. But if you are a windows native who is now learning the new environment of the Mac, here's a few pointers.

With the Intel Core2 Duo Macs, you don't have to say goodbye to Windows. You can run both, at the same time!
Think of the Dock as your Start Menu.
The Mac Software does a lot that the Windows software does, but in some cases it just does it better.
Some Microsoft software you have used on Windows is not available on Mac OS X. However, if you run Windows, that's not a problem.
Web Browsers: Microsoft stopped supporting Internet Explorer on the Mac OS a few years ago. Apple have their own browser, Safari but there are a lot of other browsers out there.
Troubleshooting your Mac: You don't always need a technician. If you can use disk utilities, you can solve a lot of issues yourself.

Welcome to Web2.0 to Go

I've been seeking a definition that I can use to explain the phenomenon that is Web 2.0. The term means different things to different people, but the definition I prefer focuses on the fact taht Web 2.0 means a new way of using the internet. From being a passive viewer, you become an active participant. Technical types will point to the raft of Web 2.0 Applications that are now available and they will tell you that this is what Web 2.0 is.

I'm constructing this blog for a seminar for an ICT cluster group. It's really meant as a springboard for teachers, and anyone else who's interested.

For those of you who aren't sure which way to look, I hope that the links here will point you in the right direction.
